The M22 is a side-mounted scope base for vintage Mossberg .22 rifles that already have side-tapped receivers. It uses a Weaver-style top platform and follows the curve of the receiver, so the scope sits centered over the barrel and the iron sights can stay in place.
No gunsmithing is needed. If the rifle has a bolt cover, remove it so the bolt clears the base. Two button-socket mounting screws and an Allen wrench are included; rings and a scope are not. Check that your receiver is drilled and tapped before ordering.
