This Springfield Armory U.S.G.I. M1 Garand Ratchet Rifle Chamber Brush 30-06 Springfield, .308 Winchester is the real deal. Each brush was originally made for the M1A cleaning kit, but you can use it for your M1A and your M1 Garand. Buy one for your shooting bag and one for your bench. Brush is inserted into the chamber. There is a rotating spindle on the back of the brush that has a row of holes in it. The holes have 8-32 thread. By screwing the stem of a cleaning jag into one of the holes, the spindle can be rotated. A set of teeth between the spindle and the brush will allow the brush to be turned in the chamber. There is no opening or threads in the end of this brush and it cannot be attached to a cleaning rod.
