­The unique design of the Charter Arms Pitbull provides a dual coil spring assembly located in the extractor which allows for the insertion and retention of the cartridge in each chamber of the revolvers’ cylinder. (No moon clips required) This patented system allows the shooter ease of ejecting spent cartridges for immediate reloading. Charter Arms has taken the difficulty of rimless loading and ejection to the simplicity of the rimmed cartridge in the revolver industry. The Pitbull is available as a traditional Double Action/Single Action with a standard grooved hammer. ­The 9mm Rimless Revolver Pitbull now features a 5-shot cylinder in line with the rest of the Pitbull family. The 9mm uses same unique rimless cartridge extractor assembly system as the Charter Arms .40 cal Rimless Revolver. A dual coil spring assembly located in the extractor allows insertion and retention of a 9mm cartridge in each chamber of the revolver's cylinder. After firing, the shooter can easily eject the spent cartridges for immediate reloading. With its reduced recoil, the Pitbull is user friendly for even the beginning shooter." The Pitbull is also available in Black Nitride. Black nitride is a process that adds hardness to the finish of the revolver. It also reduces friction and wear.
